The way things are going, Trump will be our next President. Either he wins the election or he will take it. Of course, much can happen in the next eleven months but that’s the way things are going now . . .
There’s something wrong. Biden and the Democrats just don’t have a message that reaches people, that inspires, that even makes much political sense.
Trump says “Let’s Make America Great Again.” Look at that: he’s got “America”, “great”, and “us” in there. Biden talks about “democracy”, “the economy”, and the “chips act.” No America, no great, and no us. What’s a ‘chips act’?
Biden says that when it’s finally a head-to-head between just him and Trump, folks will choose him. I don’t think so. A lot of people believe “only Trump can save America.” They mean save the country from Biden, democrats, and especially from liberals. Something is wrong when half the people believe the country needs saving from its President and his party.
Unless Biden and the Dems get a message – soon – that is solid, understandable, something to believe in, to trust in, a message that gives us hope and faith, that inspires our patriotism, that we can feel, then when Biden and Trump are head-to-head, folks may just go fishin’, let the chips fall where they may. What do they say: You can’t beat something with nothing?
Let’s say Dems get a message, then they still have to have a messenger. But Biden can’t conceive the message and can’t be the messenger. It’s not just age, it’s something else. In my previous post, I called it “persona”. He’s a good man, just not a leader, not Reagan, Kennedy, Obama, FDR, or Lincoln, or Washington. But we need a leader like one of them. We desperately need a leader.
Biden has to stop running.
He has too much on his plate to be running for President. We are in wars, we have a large renegade radical Republican faction in the House. We have some very high prices of important things. Immigration is out of control. Biden should quit the campaign and tend to the business of the country. He’s not Superman; it would be too much for anyone. He can’t do it; he shouldn’t try.
Not only is Biden too busy to run a campaign, he can’t beat Trump, Trump will make mincemeat of Biden in a debate and in a dog-eat-dog campaign. Trump will insult, ridicule, make fun of, give Biden a belittling nickname, tear Hunter Biden to pieces, and no doubt even attack Jill and other family members, dead or alive. Trump will tell lies, and repeat them until they are believed. Can Biden deal effectively with this kind of campaign? I don’t think so, certainly not while also dealing with Israel, Iran, China, Ukraine, Russia, and Congress. Not possible.
Biden didn’t prepare for this by grooming a half dozen or so young men and women to take his place, by giving them important jobs where they would have been visible and gained experience. A good leader would have done so. There are young smart and vigorous Jack Kennedy look-alikes, male and female, white, black, Hispanic, and probably indigenous – in the Democratic party. They can fight it out to get the nomination. But they must hurry; getting on the ballots of all the states takes time – and outstanding management skills. They have the management and political skills, but not much time. Biden must quit now.
You’ve noticed I have ignored Kamala Harris. No doubt Biden will try to get her the nomination; it would be the political way of doing. But Harris can’t beat Donald Trump, she just can’t. He will eviscerate her before she gets out of the starting gate. She should not run.
Note that the Democrats are almost as badly off as a party as the Republicans. Dems have only one candidate, 80 years old, too stubborn to get out of the way, and so egotistical that he thinks he is the only person who can beat Trump. He isn’t, and he can’t, but the Dems are too catatonic, confused, and elitist to even encourage and support oppositiion. It’s a one-man party that doesn’t know what it is. Are they liberal or not? Anyway, what does liberal mean? It’s just an absurd way to be if they want to find the best person, a message — and win.
I ask you to imagine this: Biden and Harris quit running. They can pass the torch to a new generation of Americans. A dozen or so young diverse Democrats jump in. They are energetic and articulate. They have practical, exciting ideas for how to fix America. They can go toe-to-toe with Trump and beat him. They can bring in a new era in America.
Can you imagine that? Just Sayin’
